Ross Knudson, of Mackenzie British Columbia, sent the following post about competition changes for masters skaters in that province:
At an Advanced Program Committee (APC) meeting this evening for BC, the committee voted to exclude Masters from Provincial short track meets, including 2 BC Cup Meets, and the Provincial Short Track Meet.
Masters are invited instead to participate in Northern or Southern Regional Meets, with a preliminary proposal to alternate provincial short track championships between North and South Regionals in alternate years.
I fought this decision, but to no avail. I warned them that it would potentially disenfranchise masters skaters that are coaches, parents, volunteers, or just in it for the fun. I told them Masters are part of the LTAD model (Athletes for Life), that we have always been part of these competitions in the past, etc..
I would appreciate it if this could be forwarded to the Masters distribution list, and comments can be forwarded to Ross Knudson at rknudson@telus.net, or directly to BC Speed Skating at speedskating@ucfv.ca

Ross Hanham of Ontario has a great little blog about everything a Master skater might like to know. He even has a picture with Agatha on one of his pages.
