….we are asking your assistance in making sure this reminder is passed onto all your members asap. We know there has to be more than 12 people in our organization who want to be involved in the 2010 Games.

Please make sure your members know to send expressions of interest to the BCSSA Office by October 31st.

Thank-you for your cooperation,

Important Reminder:

Pre-Olympic and Winter Olympic Games

In advance of the general call for volunteers (coming Februrary 2008 from VANOC) BCSSA is compiling a list of those officials/skilled volunteers who are interested in being considered for participation in the Olympic Winter Games.

The purpose behind this preliminary call for interested officials/skilled volunteers is to determine those BCSSA members who may be considered for the technical positions – tentatively determined as 49 for Short Track and 50 for Long Track.

It will also provide an indication as to the number of skilled volunteers BCSSA has within its ranks for the other positions VANOC needs to complete the full complement of staffing for both Short Track and Long Track.

It must be understood that all who wish to be considered for participation in the Olympic Winter Games either as an official or a skilled volunteer will be required to go through the registration process VANOC will be implementing February 2008.
